Division of University Marketing & Communications. Towson University

 Organization

Biography

The Division of University Marketing and Communications got its official start in 1977 with the creation of the "Promotions Department" which was charged with promoting the newly constructed Towson Center. By 1980, two separate departments--University Marketing and University Relations--worked to standardize communications about the mission of the school. For the next thirty years, the departments responsibilities would change until the early 2010s with the creation of the University Marketing and Communications department coalesced this work under one Vice President. As of 2025, this Division manages University communications including the newsroom, publications, social media, digital media, graphic design, campus photography, branding, and marketing.
