Biography

In 1866 the Maryland State Normal School (MSNS) opened to train teachers for the state public school system. It had been established in 1864 when the Maryland state constitution was rewritten to provide for a public school system.

Abstract

Anne Elizabeth Hartje, a member of Maryland State Normal School's class of 1931 served on various alumni committees including the Alumni Board of Directors, the Alumni Committee for the College of Education, the Phonathon Committee, and the Towson University Alumni Council for Towson University. This collection includes correspondence, photographs, personal notes, publications, programs, and other types of memorabilia.
