Tansil, Rebecca Catherine, 1900-1996
Biography
Tansil served as the school registrar from 1932 until 1963. During WWII she sent out newsletters to the campus, keeping the campus and alumni informed about not only what was happening at the school, but also communicating information from active service members. She herself served as a WAVE from 1944 until 1946. When she returned to the State Teachers College at Towson, she also began teaching Spanish classes in addition to her registrar duties.

This collection which dates from 1941 to 1946 contains materials evidencing Maryland State Normal School/State Teachers College alumni activities during and after World War II. These materials include newsletters from STC to MSNS/STC alumni serving in the armed forces; individual alumni files including photographs, letters, cards, and other personal correspondence; and lists of serving alumni.
