Scope and Contents

The Towson University historic scrapbook collection which dates from 1886 to 1990 houses the personal scrapbooks of alumni from both during their school years and reunions as well as collections of clippings and news materials kept by school staff during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These scrapbooks evidence student life, school activities, and current events over an almost 100 year period.

Abstract Bill Urban founded the Baltimore Alternative newspaper in 1986, committing the paper to extensive coverage of the AIDS epidemic, the Baltimore, Maryland LGBTQAI+ community, and to their civil and privacy rights. Libertus Van Bokkelen records

Abstract

Libertus Van Bokkelen was the first State Superintendent of Public Instruction and principal ex officio for the Maryland State Normal School from 1864 until 1867. These records which date from 1889 to 1997 consist of correspondence from Van Bokkelen as well as biographies written about him by staff at St. Timothy’s Protestant Episcopal Church in Catonsville, Maryland, and Towson Archives staff members.
