Abstract

Dr. Frederick James Ladd taught courses in art history and architecture at Towson University from 1971 until his retirement in 1991. The collection is chiefly composed of photographic materials photographed and purchased by Ladd dating from the late 1960s to the late 1990s.

Abstract In 1962, just before the Towson became Towson State College [TSC] and a liberal arts school, the department of Speech and Drama was formalized. A student could now major or minor in Speech and Drama and focus on public speaking, theater, or speech science. This record group's materials are largely textual and contains schedules, correspondance, budget requests, reports, minutes, floor plans, pamphlets, handbooks, photographs, and other material related to the planning and execution of orientation. Included in the material related to the execution of orientation are handouts and a gift students would have received, as well as banners used during the event.
