Edward W. Holmes was a professor at Towson State College (now Towson University) from 1971 to 1999 where be became the chairman of the Elementary Education Department in 1975, and then in 1991 assumed the post of coordinator for the Elementary Education Master of Education program. Dr. Frederick James Ladd taught courses in art history and architecture at Towson University from 1971 until his retirement in 1991. The collection is chiefly composed of photographic materials photographed and purchased by Ladd dating from the late 1960s to the late 1990s.
