This folder contains a letter from Newell to George C. Crass, father of a student who had been in an accident, dated January 24, 1890; a letter dated August 11, 1888 from Newell to John Groh, a member of the Board of Trustees, regarding school districts; an undated calling card of Mrs. M.A. Newell’sand a photocopy of a wedding announcement from Mrs. Newell regarding the marriage of Josephine Cushing on June 30, 1924.

This folder contains The Ideal Teacher, The Beginning of Industrial Education, Course of Instruction Professional, which is reprinted from the 1866 Maryland State Normal School catalog, and a photocopy of The Maryland School Journal, v.II, no.1, dated September, 1875. All of these items were published by Newell during his lifetime.
